Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pemanfaatan literatur primer dalam meningkatkan pendidikan biologi di SMA Negeri 2 Baubau, Indonesia. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis literatur primer yang dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam kurikulum biologi, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat implementasinya, serta mengusulkan strategi untuk meningkatkan integrasinya. Melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan dari guru biologi dan 100 siswa menggunakan wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi, survei, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literatur primer, termasuk artikel penelitian, makalah konferensi, dan tesis akademik, belum secara sistematis diintegrasikan ke dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun, guru memiliki pemahaman dasar tentang literatur primer dan menyadari potensi manfaatnya untuk memperkaya pengalaman belajar siswa. Faktor-faktor pendukung integrasi meliputi dukungan administratif, antusiasme guru, dan rasa ingin tahu siswa, sementara tantangan meliputi akses terbatas ke sumber primer dan variasi keahlian guru. Studi ini mengusulkan strategi integrasi komprehensif yang melibatkan pemilihan literatur yang dapat diakses dan sesuai, kerja sama dengan lembaga pendidikan tinggi, dan desain pembelajaran terstruktur untuk memfasilitasi keterlibatan aktif siswa. Studi ini memberikan wawasan bagi berbagai pihakyang berupaya menghadirkan sumber belajar berbasis primer bagi siswa.
