Abstract

Rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pemilahan sampah dan penerapan prinsip 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) masih menjadi tantangan besar dalam pengelolaan lingkungan. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas edukasi pengelolaan sampah organik dan non-organik dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan perilaku masyarakat. Desain penelitian menggunakan metode pre-test dan post-test dengan 15 butir soal pilihan ganda. Sebanyak 25 warga Desa Lebbo Tengae, Kabupaten Maros, berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan sosialisasi interaktif melalui ceramah, demonstrasi, dan diskusi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan menggunakan uji paired t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan yang signifikan, di mana rata-rata skor meningkat dari 7,72 menjadi 14,28 (t = −24,29; p < 0,001). Pemahaman peserta terhadap konsep sampah organik basah meningkat dari 56% menjadi 100%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan edukasi dan sosialisasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat serta mendorong perilaku pengelolaan sampah yang berkelanjutan, sehingga mendukung terciptanya lingkungan yang lebih bersih dan praktik ekonomi sirkular.
