Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze and determine the effect of lending rates and capital
adequacy levels (CAR) on the profitability (ROA) of banks listing on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in
the 2015-2017 period. The population in this research is all banks licensed on the Indonesia Stock
Exchange with a research sample obtained by 5 banks. There are two research methods used in this
study, namely the documentation method and the literature study method. The analytical tool used in
this study is multiple linear regression. This research was conducted at the Indonesia Stock Exchange
Sharia Investment Gallery Muhammadiyah Buton University.The results showed the coefficient of
determination that showed credit interest rates and the level of capital adequacy contributed to
profitability (ROA) of 42.3%. Correlation test results show that loan interest rates and capital
adequacy levels have a strong relationship with profitability (ROA). F test results show that loan
interest rates and capital adequacy levels together have a significant effect on profitability (ROA) and
t test results show that credit interest rates do not significantly influence profitability (ROA), while
capital adequacy levels have a significant effect towards profitability (ROA).
