Abstract

Peran Afrika Selatan dalam mendukung Palestina, dengan fokus pada hubungan sejarah dan solidaritas yang terjalin antara kedua pihak. Penelitian ini dibagi menjadi beberapa sub-bab yang mencakup konteks politik dan sosial Afrika Selatan, hubungan bilateral dengan Palestina, serta peran media dan organisasi internasional dalam mendukung perjuangan Palestina.Afrika Selatan, setelah mengakhiri apartheid, menjalin hubungan diplomatik dengan Palestina pada tahun 1995, menunjukkan komitmennya terhadap hak-hak Palestina. Pemimpin ANC, Nelson Mandela, menegaskan bahwa kebebasan Afrika Selatan tidak lengkap tanpa kebebasan Palestina. Dukungan ini berlanjut di era kepemimpinan saat ini, di mana pemerintah Afrika Selatan mengajukan kasus genosida terhadap Israel di Mahkamah Internasional dan aktif dalam gerakan Boikot, Divestasi, dan Sanksi (BDS). Media Afrika Selatan berperan penting dalam membentuk opini publik dan kebijakan luar negeri terkait isu Palestina. Dengan dukungan kuat dari masyarakat, Afrika Selatan berupaya menjadi suara bagi negara-negara berkembang di panggung global. Penelitian ini menyoroti bagaimana pengalaman bersama dalam perjuangan melawan penindasan telah memperkuat ikatan antara Afrika Selatan dan Palestina, serta tantangan yang masih dihadapi dalam mewujudkan keadilan dan perdamaian bagi rakyat Palestina.
